Horner looks forward to test with Ricciardo: "I'm very curious to witness what he will bring to the table."

Due to Sergio Perez's disappointing recent results, speculation about a potential replacement has been rampant within the Formula 1 community. The name that surfaces most frequently is Daniel Ricciardo. As Red Bull Racing's current reserve driver, the Australian could seamlessly step into the role, but team boss Christian Horner states that there are currently no indications of such a change taking place.

Next week, Ricciardo will have the chance to experience the RB19 firsthand during a Pirelli tire test. This serves as an opportunity for Red Bull to evaluate Ricciardo's driving abilities. However, according to Horner, Ricciardo should not anticipate a permanent seat at Red Bull. In an interview with PlanetF1.com, the team boss stated, "It is certainly not something we are planning." Nonetheless, Horner expresses his contentment with Ricciardo's inclusion in the team this year, asserting, "That has unquestionably been the right move for us. This way, he remains engaged in the sport."

According to Horner, it is nearly inconceivable to imagine Formula One without Ricciardo. "It would have been a significant loss for the sport if he was no longer involved. In recent years, I hardly recognized him; he seemed to have lost some of his enthusiasm and speed." The team boss eagerly awaits next week's test, hoping to witness the resurgence of the "old Ricciardo." "I am extremely curious to see what he brings to the table. This test holds significance for Pirelli, but it's particularly exciting to see him back in a Red Bull car." This will be Ricciardo's first opportunity to drive an F1 car since his departure from McLaren, making it a momentous occasion for the reserve driver.

"Drive the best car on the grid"

With Max Verstappen's victory, Red Bull has now secured their 11th consecutive win at Silverstone. The RB19 undoubtedly stands as the dominant car in the field, providing Ricciardo with excellent machinery for his upcoming test drive. "This is undeniably a fantastic opportunity for him as well. He will have the privilege of sitting in the best car on the grid, following his recent triumph at the British Grand Prix." During the test, Red Bull aims to gain a better understanding of Ricciardo's current performance. "We will closely observe his abilities and hope to assess his physical and mental condition. I am also eagerly anticipating his feedback on the car," stated the Red Bull team boss.
