The Russian Grand Prix was scheduled to take place in Sochi, situated on the Black Sea, just like in previous years. The Grand Prix was supposed to be held on September 25th, but due to the war in Ukraine initiated by Russia, the event has been canceled. It is one of the many sports events that have been called off due to the war, which began in February 2022 following a Russian military invasion in Eastern Ukraine.
